The holiday season in Madrid starts early December. The 6th of December is the celebration of Spain's new (26 years old) Constitution and the 8th is the day of " la Inmaculada Concepción". Spaniards take usually the 6, 7 and 8th off work for a short vacation or "puente" (=bridge) as they call it.
