Spanish Immersion programs in Madrid
|
The Spanish immersion programs and culture classes called 'Practice Immersion' complement your classroom learning. It provides further opportunities for you to learn about Spain and the Spanish speaking world while increasing your fluency. The activities are structured and guided by an elemadrid teacher and are beneficial to all the students at all levels. A notice board in school displays the exact contents and timetable of the activities programmed for the week. Practice Immersion starts around 4:30 pm and lasts from 2 to 4 hours depending on the activity. |

N°1: Spain Today - Conference
|
Spain Today: Lectures offering overviews and information about a wide range of aspects of contemporary Spanish culture and society such as: Gypsies in Spain, the Basque Country, Spanish theatre in the 20th century or Flamenco. |

N°2: Discover Madrid - Field activities
|
Discover Madrid: Teacher-led excursions providing direct contact with culture, industry, history and Spanish art, such as: Madrid police headquarters, a brewery, the Prado museum or the best tapas bars of Madrid. |

N°3: Spanish Profiles - Interviews
|
Profiles: Interviews with invited guests, such as a TV-producer, a bullfighter, or a taxi driver. Moderated by a teacher these interviews are both an opportunity to speak with selected people of Spanish society and an insight into how Spaniards live, work and think. Meet the real madrileños, such as an artist, a female bullfighter or an actor specialized in dubbing films, and interview them about their work and life in Spain. |

N°4: Media Session - Movie or TV Focus
|
This weekly focus helps you familiarize with the Media world in Spain. You will learn about Spain's most outstanding movie directors, the most popular T.V programs enjoyed by Spaniards and more. |

N°5: Bon Appétit - Lunch with Teachers
|
Every Friday at 1 pm tables are reserved in a nearby restaurant for elemadrid teachers and students. In an informal but SPANISH SPEAKING ONLY environment students and teachers can talk about whatever they'd like: food, program, week-end, grammar, opinions, movies etc.. |
